I have hypothyroid which makes me feel tired and sluggish at times. I have to maintain a healthy weight to have energy to complete my daily goals. I eat a healthy balanced diet, do aerobic exercise and walk each day to stay active.

You also need physical activity in your life. Walking, aerobic exercise, biking, swimming, light weights all are benefits of exercise. If you follow these health tips and maintain a healthy weight you have more energy and can live longer and not live sick.
Being healthy isn’t all about counting calories or exercising for hours a day. It isn’t starving yourself on only water and celery for days and weeks. It is good nutrition, getting fresh air and moving throughout the day.
How to get started with health and wellness
You need to take baby steps to get healthy for life. Start by drinking eight 8 ounce glasses of water each day. Eat a fruit or vegetable with every meal. Get outside and take a walk. Get a restful sleep each night. I am here to help you through the baby steps.
Once you start eating healthy, get outside and take a walk. If you aren’t active, walk for 15 minutes. Add 5 minutes each day until you can walk a half hour and not be out of breathe. Build up to 1 mile and keep adding on until you can walk 10,000 steps or 5 miles a day.

- Write down your daily menu – breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner
- Drink a glass of water a half hour before each meal to fill you up so you don’t overeat
- Add a fruit or veggie to each meal
- Walk 20 – 30 minutes each day
- Serving size! Take a serving size and put it on a plate, put the bag away so you won’t over indulge in that bag of chips.
